Three Days and Counting 'Til our National Conference

In 3 days, our National Conference in Hamilton, Ontario will begin.

This year will be our "Sweet 16" ... Composting and our Council have come a long way since that first conference, held in a downtown Toronto hotel in 1991, happened. That conference was more a set of roundtable discussions concerning what a "Composting Council of Canada" should be and should do ... rather than the conference of today which will involve over 30+ presentations on different composting happenings, 40+ exhibitors involved in various industry services and 3 days of tours, networking, events and learning.

There are more than enough boxes in our boardroom (with many more timed to arrive tomorrow) ... all ready for the trip along the QEW to Hamilton on Tuesday and their opening for delegate bags, exhibitors and the presentations soon to be made.

Our premier sponsors, The City of Hamilton and the Hamilton CCF Team led by Maple Reinders, are all set for "the family" to start showing up this week ...

The Wednesday tours are going to be beyond great. We have been so fortunate to have had the sponsorship of Integrated Municipal Services and a stellar local committee involved in their planning. The buses will leave the Sheraton Hamilton at 10 am on Wednesday ... and the travelling & touring of composting facilities and compost research trials will begin.

Over the past couple of weeks, we've had the chance to finalize a number of important initiatives that will be unveiled in Hamilton. They will be a great way to help support the further development of the composting infrastructure as well as advance compost markets across the country. While you never want to wish time away, we are all getting eager to get the conference underway....

So ... for those of you whose plans already include our conference, don't forget your business cards! And for those of you who still need to register, there's a registration form available for downloading from our website (www.compost.org/NatConf2006/agenda_eng.html) or just call us @ 1-877-571-GROW(4769) and we'll get you all signed up for the best 3 days of networking, learning and fun yet.

See you soon.
Susan
